PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Bridge Structures: Structural Design/Retrofitting of Superstructure, Sub-Structure and Foundation of Prestressed Concrete Deck Girder Bridge, Slab Bridge, Prestressed Concrete Box Girder Bridge, Arch Bridge, Steel Truss Bridge, Steel Bailey Bridge, Steel Deck Girder Bridge, Steel Box Girder Bridge, Steel Orthotopic Bridge and Timber Bridge. Designed for Incremental Launching.
The retrofitting of the bridges including evaluation of existing load carrying capacity, finding the members to be retrofitted, methods of retrofitting, capacity evaluation of one side demolishing condition, design of final condition, calculation of Posting Loads and design of Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) system. Design of jointless Bridge using link slab system, continuous girders system, integral system, semi-integral system and sleeper slab system. Design of deck with FRP reinforcements. Design of diaphragm for bearing replacement. Dynamic analysis for deflection control and for restrainers design.
Major bridge design/retrofitting are reversing fall railway bridge, saint john harbor bridge (Prestressed girder, steel plate girder, steel box girder and orthotropic deck), Anderson steel plate girder bridge, grant Brook integral bridge, Throughfare truss bridges, salmon river steel bridge, Millstream wood bridge, Clark Mill Pond (integral bridge and timber crib), Franceville Bridge (Steel plate girder, steel truss and Timber bridge), Restigouche bridge (steel plate girder and steel box girder), and many other bridges in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
Marine & Port: Capacity calculation and Load rating of Saint John Port for container handling and storing of containers. Rehabilitation of the deck structures. Optimization of the moving loads over the deck for different type of vehicles, Bomb Carts, Reach Stacker and Reactors. In Bangladesh, Designed of pump house 10m below riverbed for 110 MW Power station. Design of fender and jetty. Evaluation of existing jetty for berthing large cargo vessels.
Dynamic Analysis of Vibratory Machine Foundation: Calculated combined stiffness of soil & structure, combined damping constant, natural frequency, amplitude, transmissibility and magnification factor. Calculated displacement amplitude, velocity amplitude and acceleration amplitude on different nodes including interference of other vibratory machines.
Hydrodynamic Analysis: Designed reinforced concrete liquid storage tanks. Conducted Dynamic analysis for Water Hammer effects on oil transporting pipe supports.
Oil & Gas Structures: Designed the structure and foundation of cross over bridge, underground and overhead pipe support systems, valve access platforms, spring hangers, cable tray supports, cable tray bridges, foam pipe supports, HVAC unit structure, MCC building, ESB, stiles, crane support system, pipe anchorage structures, underground fire water buildings and pump house in Alberta oil field.
Forestry/Pulp & Paper Industry: Designed the bleaching storage tank foundation and crane supporting structure. Designed structural and foundation of new press building and retrofitted of existing building. Designed structural and foundation of Stoker Reclaimer, Screen Feed Conveyor, Hog, Boiler Feed Conveyors and Transfer Tower for bio-mass plant. Plats were in Saint john, Maine, New York and Gorgia.
Power Stations: Designed the Foundation of Turbine & Generator, Inlet Structure, Stack, Auxiliary Equipment. Structural and foundation designed of pump house below riverbed, all types of pipeline foundations, Jetty, mooring post, large diameter storage tanks, heavy lift dock, incinerator base. Design of Flue Gas transporting structures. Plants were in Holyrood-NL, Boundary Dam-SK and Khula-BD.
Mining: Designed head frame foundation, design and stability checked for back leg structures of Potash mining in Sussex. Design of Gold Mining in Ontario.
Water Treatment Plants: Structural and foundation designed of intake structure, sedimentation tanks, coagulation tanks and refiner water storage tanks for Water Treatment Plants in Campbellton, NB.
Tall Buildings: Structural and Foundation designed of 32 story hotel buildings, car parking buildings, shopping complexes and riding towers at Orlando, USA. In Bangladesh, hundreds of tall buildings designed for residential, commercial, institution, pharmaceutical, hospital and for mix type buildings up to 25 stories with maximum three underground basements.
